1971-1980:
The organisation of the company develops.
•  Taking on the sun in Southern Europe:
Italy  in 1968 and Spain in 1976
•  The Villum Kann Rasmussen Foundation was established in 1971 followed by the VELUX Foundation in 1981
•  Production was established outside Denmark - Great Britain in 1973, France in 1975 and United States in 1978
•  In 1977 the tophung VELUX VTL is designed especially for lower roof pitches

The organisation of the company develops. Shared responsibility is at the heart of this evolution. The Systems Concepts organisation model is introduced to break down barriers and increase flexibility (1970's)

In 1975, VELUX made the leap across the Atlantic and set up a sales company and later a production company in the USA. Shortly afterwards, Canada came into the fold.

VELUX has developed a number of products for special needs in various
Markets.

The North American market had a tradition for skylights fitted high in the roof, so VELUX had to develop a series of such skylights especially for this market.

The Japanese market that needed products that can withstand the climatic extremes of the country.
