1951-1960:
The first major challenge was to introduce customers to the new idea and convince them of its advantages.
•  Agreement with E.G. Albers to develop the German market in 1952
•  Rationalisation and industrialisation of production – A/S BBI Metal- og Plastvarer is opened in 1954
•  Entering  Belgium and Holland  in 1957, Austria and Switzerland in 1958 and  France in 1962
  The VELUX history
With success on the domestic market an undisputed fact, work got under way to spread the idea of living under the sloping roof to other parts of the world. The first step out into the world was a licence agreement with neighbouring Sweden.

A giant step was taken when KR and his German partner, E.G. Albers, started up production and sales of VELUX roof windows in Germany.

In 1954, VELUX entered the UK market.
